WOW!

So many of you know, Mozambique was and still is a very poor country. For the entirety of its civil war, it was on the top of the list of miserable places to live. But we’ve come a long way baby. The road up to my town has just been paved in its entirety! Sorry Noel and Sam that you had to suffer through that. Broadband internet is now the way to go according to the phone company. They don’t offer anything less her now. But, the really phenomenal thing that has happened has to do with a certain MC Roger. He’s probably the most famous person in the country. Maybe an R. Kelly or Notorious B.I.G equivalent, you get the picture. He’s big. Well, he got caught with some male prostitutes in Maputo. Apparently, he likes to do that sort of thing – pay for prostitutes that is. I never understand why people who could honestly get anyone they want go out and pay for love. That’s the thing though. He didn’t want the millions of Mozambican women who through themselves at him. This is big people. Most people here don’t even know what homosexuality is or if they do, “it doesn’t exist in Mozambique” So, here’s the best thing, instead of pulling some American Republican “I had a moment of weakness, gone over to the dark side fufu dust” he came out on the evening news. You could almost feel the country’s jaw drop. Then they picked it up and moved on. I asked around what people thought about this news, and they still said he makes good music….
